I made sure to schedule my day so that I could hear the much hyped Sen. Feingold interview on Earl Ingram’s radio program today. I’m pissed that I did because the Junior Senator from Wisconsin made history with what had to be the shortest interview ever recorded (less than 6 minutes).
Let me say something real quick to my Brother Earl – when you hype that you are going to interview someone please interview them yourself. Don’t have a co-host in with you. Hell, it’s your name on the show act like it brother damn. Back to business…
The Senator ended the interview suddenly after co-host Sheriff David Clarke asked a two-part question. Clarke’s question dealt with Congress adding ‘earmarks’ to the Iraqi War Funding requests and the lack of jobs created by the stimulus package. Instead of answering the damn question, he bailed out of the interview by saying he had to go.
In my opinion, Sen. Feingold showed the ultimate in disrespect to Earl Ingram and his listening audience (Black Folks, Black Voters, you Black Democrats). The beat goes on for these Liberal, White Men who take YOUR Black Vote for granted. They know YOU will NEVER consider voting against a Democrat. They know they OWN you mind, body and vote. They CONTROL YOU BLACK PEOPLE…
Brother Earl… you are respected by most as being a good man. Damn all that… you need to be a BEAST (more on this coming) on the radio and rip Feingold a new one. This White Man spit on Black Voters today and can care less about how we feel about it. In the past, you gave out the office numbers of Black Elected Officials for listeners to call encouraging them to voice their displeasure. How about doing likewise for Feingold. What is his record regarding Black People in Milwaukee? Why has he gotten YOUR vote Earl? Why will he keep getting YOUR vote Earl? This man won’t give you more than five minutes of his day… yet we should continue to blindly put his behind in a Senate seat? What does Sister Whitney say… Hell to the nah!!!
He needs to be held accountable for his actions today. He needs to talk about his record relating to Black People. The time has come for Black Milwaukee Voters to Blackout the vote of these weak pols. The time is NOW for someone to challenge these White Pols like some have been challenging our Black Pols.
That ish pissed me off today.

I have to agree with you..I think it was very disrespectful. Politicians like Feingold need to be judged on the content of their character and the results of their actions, not their party affiliation. He didn’t treat you like a man Earl.
January 27, 2010 at 11:08 pm
“Please interview them yourself”, was your advice to Earl Ingrim.
I strongly endorse your advice in this instant case.
Both questions advanced by David Clark, who has spent most of his air-time collaborating and postulating with Charley Sykes, came directly from the Republican partisan political play-book which they will be using this fall in the Mid-term election and again in 2012 When President Barack Obama will be running for re-election.
Accordingly, it ought to be apparent that Senator Russ Feingold’s abrupt departure was more about avoiding a pissing match with a skunk than disrepct for Black voters.
January 27, 2010 at 11:33 pm
Brother Swan I have to respectfully disagree with you about Feingold’s exit. If a polished, elected official cannot answer a simple question about what the stimulus plan has done regarding jobs for Black People, then I have a problem with that. The sheriff’s question about earmarks is a conservative dig grant it, but Black Men are nearing 60% unemployment. The sheriff is locking some of them brothers up that are trying to eat. The Senator should have answered the question and many more questions about what he’s doing for Black People. He came on a Black Radio station did he not think he was going to get questions regarding issues about Black People?
Don’t give Feingold a pass for not speaking to two Black Men who wanted to ask him questions. He’s a professional and needs to act like one especially when he counts on Black Votes to stay elected.
No passes from me Brother Swan… none.

You are absolutely right and I’m glad to hear you say it and as for Earl I have to give him credit for having the cojones to put someone on as a co-host with a different perspective!
February 1, 2010 at 9:54 am
Come on Monroe what was so republican about asking the guy, who in the past has been outspoken against earmarks, a legitimate question about why he voted for a defense bill that had almost 8,000 of them (none for Wisconsin)that weren’t even related to the bill or the lack of jobs created that everyone knows is true? I don’t care if they are democrat or republican we got to ask the tough questions! Just for the record there are republicans that support earmarks too but that doesn’t mean they’re right… shoot they should get the same questions!
January 27, 2010 at 11:27 pm
What does ‘Mike Steele ourselves’ mean?
Sheriff Clarke is Earl’s replacement host when he’s not on air. He was in the studio with Earl as his each month on the last Wednesday of the month. That is what Earl stated today.
February 1, 2010 at 10:21 am
Sure there are black people who vote republican and we are all constituents whether or not we vote one way or another and to say that 100% of republicans don’t want nothing to do with black people is ludicous.
January 28, 2010 at 6:10 am
You can make this a race issue if you want, but you are avoiding the point.
Where were Earls listeners when russ was having his town hall meetings?
russ doesn’t care about the color of your skin. russ was a smug smirking ass to any one who questioned him on his voting record and health care.
Earl’s listeners were treated to the same disrespect as any one else who challenged him in person. At least the listeners didn’t have to see the look of disdain on his mug.
How about focusing on a new candidate that will address your concerns and stop filling in the circle with your number 2 pencil for any one who has a “D” after their name.
Forty years of nothing. How in Gods name can you stand it.

LisaLisa –
The reality of the situation is this. Pols identify voters by race, creed, economics, religion, party, etc., etc., etc. If you cannot accept that I don’t know what else to say in response. Part of my commentary does indeed deal with race because of the fact that Black People are primarily Democratic Voters.
If Black People (Like White People) where evenly split in their party affiliation, this would be a non-issue and your comments would be very precise. Since WE (as you like to always point out) are Democratic Loyalists, it is a major issue as we are their most supportive of political groups (seniors, labor unions, teachers unions, etc.).
In a sense, Black People are a special interest group that gets nothing in return for our investment in the party.
I’m not going to defend Earl you can call his show and ask him that question. However, 1290 WMCS is a tremendous resource for many Black People and for most the only resource for access to Pols. White People have multiple White Talk Show Hosts, Black People now have 1 and that is Earl.
And his last listening session was on Tuesday, Jan. 19th at 9am in the morning. How about the busy Senator schedule on the weekend or the evening when more of his voters can make it out?
February 1, 2010 at 10:13 am
Lisa you are right on! As an independent who has voted more democratic in my lifetime and tired of the results, I have done some serious rexaming of issues as they effect people of color and people in general. What drives my priorities today is my faith, my family, my country and the belief that I am a member of the human race and not just some racial or ethnic group as important as that is but more often than not we set ourselves apart and blame it on someone else.
January 28, 2010 at 11:09 am
Just to clear up a few things, I have been in touch with the senators press people this morning, we had a great conversation about a myriad of subjects. Let me be clear to the community, the senator was called to a meeting. I have no reason to believe otherwise. He will be appearing on the “evening rush” in the near future. To set the record straight, I contacted the senator on behalf of the mass suffering of our people. We talked about 60% black male unemployment. We will talk about everything that impacts our community. For those of you who don’t know me I am a free black man, a man who is free of shackles and chains, No one controls what comes from my mouth. In time you will come to see this. My program will be information as well as on the cutting edge. “”Senator Feingold has agreed to continue our conversation TODAY at 3pm” PEACE
January 28, 2010 at 12:18 pm
Disrespect begets disrespect. Earl knows better but made a conscience decision to have a co-host that he knows has a political posture and agend contrary to the guests. Earl can choose who ever he wants to ride side sattle with him. The Senator could have been more graceful in his exit but, I can understand if he felt “ambushed.” It’s the “Earl Ingram” show not the “David Clarke” show. There is a difference.
January 28, 2010 at 12:43 pm
Ambushed is getting jumped in the alley behind your mother’s house after school from dudes hiding in bushes. You never had a chance because you didn’t see them waiting to jump you. Having someone ask you (an elected official representing hundreds of thousands of Black People) a question on the radio is totally different. Earl introduced Clarke to Feingold before any question was ever asked… they exchanged hugs and kisses damn near.
So Roy, are you telling US that 3 minutes later he felt Ambushed when Clarke asked him to explain where are the jobs for Black People? If so, this city of ours is turning into the Matrix.
January 28, 2010 at 6:59 pm
I’m not dealing with the question. That’s not really the issue. I’m dealing with the set up that provided the exchange of events that lead to the Senator’s departure from Earl’s show. You can get ambushed in broad daylight by a little old lady who don’t like the way you wear your pants. I was basically agreeing with the Judge Stamper’s expressed sentiment. Personally I would say that Feingold was “bushwacked” by a known Robber Baron who plays black folks off on each other (like us) while, as the O’Jays would put it “…smiling in our face, the back stabber…” Give me ten enemies who respect me versus one friend who don’t. David Clarke has proven himself to be and is not a friend of black folks or Democratic party politicians. Are you picking David over Russ because he’s “black”. As for exchanging hugs and kisses, as a fifteen year amatuer boxing official, before every boxing match as a boxers you touch gloves with your opponent in a gesture of goodwill. (You don’t hug or kiss your opponent) You also understand that there are rules of engagement and if you violate those rules, whether it’s a “bushwack”, “ambush” or low blow you may lose the match. So, it’s not about the question,in my opinion, it’s about the context in which the question was asked. Ans yes, to a lesser degree, who asked it.
January 28, 2010 at 8:17 pm
Brother Roy that is some weak blah, blah, blah.
I am not taking Russ nor Clarke… what have any of them done for Black People in Milwaukee? I am stunned how hardcore you are defending the Senator. Your dislike for Clarke has clouded your analysis of my commentary. I – unlike you – would rather deal with people who are responsible for enacting policies that impact Black People getting jobs. I am a defender of Black People and the respect they are due. In my opinion, the Senator came to our home and kicked our dog.
At least he understood that and came back on the show today to beg forgiveness from you Black Voters. He got the memo that he messed up… I guess yours hasn’t made it to you yet.
I don’t need to ask who you are in bed with… it is clear, protect the White Man, protect his honor even when he honors nothing in return. Stop bringing Clarke up… as I said I can care less about him. And I am speaking for ME not agreeing with someone else’s thoughts.
The Matrix is indeed alive and thriving here in Milwaukee I see. The system continues to keep Black People subdued, distracted and unfocused.
How can you be proud to say you aren’t dealing with the question the Senator didn’t answer yesterday? It was about jobs for Black People Roy. I will give him credit for returning and apologizing… that was the least he could have done. Now let’s see if his jobs legislation will get OUR Brothers back to work.
January 29, 2010 at 5:23 am
Any one who blindly follows forty years of the democratic party Black or White derserves what they get. White Democrats that patronize you and have given you nothing are defended. Black and White Conservatives are your enemy.
The definition of “insanity” is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result.
January 29, 2010 at 9:25 am
Where in my comments did I say that I was proud of anything? Don’t put words in my mouth or try to give impressions that don’t exist. If the only way to see the picture is through your view and framework then I am clearly missing the picture. I feel a little “bushwacked” by your implied assumptions and personal accusations. I thought this was a good forum for the exchange of opinions, civil discourse and fact based discussion. Count me out for future commentary. It’s an important medium and I wish you much luck and success.
January 29, 2010 at 9:34 am
Brother Roy had I known you’d react so sensitively I’d left the word proud out of my response to you. If you felt wounded by the word forgive me. Brother I didn’t say you “said” you were “proud” this isn’t english lit class. I used the term proud as I would use it for anyone making a comment or statement in a public forum.
Everyone is proud of their comments or they wouldn’t make them. Unless they are not being honest. Again, if you are wounded forgive me Brother Roy I enjoy your viewpoint. I’m not asking anyone to only see things my way and never will. However, in debate and discourse aren’t we all giving our opinion and challenging others? If not, God help us as a community.
